The European Commission (supported by several scientific studies) indicates that a switch to a circular economy will generate new and different jobs. There is a need for further qualitative research into these 'new' and 'other' jobs. What jobs are we talking about in practice, and what competences and skills are required to develop them? Designers, managers of digital platforms, jobs in assembly and in the logistics chain, repairers and 3D printing programmers, recyclers, etc. But there are also opportunities in supporting jobs such as consultancy, government and legal advice. Building on the qualitative research, we organise a job fair around the theme of 'materials' and existing training programmes are adapted or new ones are developed.
